We can now expect to live longer than ever before, and if we get ill, we expect to be made better!  However new threats continue to emerge.  A science video where the panel examine how lifestyle, old and emergent diseases, and recent developments in science, will affect lives in the coming decades.

In this BBC/OU/Vega video the panel discusses tuberculosis and flu, new dangerous versions of old diseases, smoking and other lifestyle choices, and more exotic factors affecting lifespan.

Chaired by Colin Blakemore, the panel consists of John Oxford, Richard Peto, and Trisha MacNair, as well as panel regular, Mike Maier.
